Project No.4

For Practice Project 01 in Greenpoint, Western Cape, I embarked on an ambitious first attempt at a modern single-store design. This project marks the initial exploration of a conventional layout, featuring contemporary flat roof aesthetics. The seamless integration of outdoor spaces creates an open-plan ambience that blends indoor and outdoor areas, even within an urban context. Emphasising "openness," the dwelling allows abundant natural light to fill the interior, a welcoming atmosphere that links the indoor and outdoor environments. With its distinctive flat roof and clean lines, the building exudes a modern, dynamic character, complemented by subtle landscaping that enhances its overall visual appeal. The outdoor wooden decking guides visitors towards the entrance, sustaining a sense of openness and flow throughout the design.
